James Suckling: “Pale copper hue. Lots of berries, plums and grapefruit rind with a nice steely accent on the nose. Fresh and fruity on the palate, showing generosity with refreshing acidity and a creamy mousse. Flavorful finish. Drink now.” —Zekun Shuai, Senior Editor

As a winemaker, I am a minimalist in every sense of the word, especially when it comes to Pinot Noir,” said Derek.
Derek founded Bravium―a Latin word meaning “gift” or “prize”―in 2007. His widely acclaimed small-lot Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are characterized by excellent structure and aging potential, along with invigorating acidity, which allows for seamless pairing with a variety of foods.
Of all the influences that have shaped Derek’s path, his family’s Cherokee heritage has been the steady drumbeat that led him to the right places at the right times. His parents gifted him the name “Winter Hawk” as a child. To this day, the sight of a hawk feather in his vineyard reminds Derek that he is fulfilling his destiny. That rich heritage gently guides his hand in the cellar. For Derek, terroir is a gift.

"A quite nice, flavorful and rich-tasting wine that offers indulgent ripe fruit flavors and handsome oak spices. Plenty of ripe green apples, pears, vanilla bean and nutmeg on the palate, with a full body and rather soft acidity."

"Bravium boasts four words on its homepage: Sun, soil, wind, and fog. They make wine in the unique northern AVA of Mendocino, specifically Anderson Valley. And this wine is a good example of the kind of balance wines here can attain. The wine is drying on the nose with some pear fruit but mostly that clean river rock-like minerality. The drying sensation carries to the mouthfeel along with a welcome alcoholic depth. There is oak here but it’s almost imperceptible giving the wine its needed depth."

Out of the 56 hectares that make up our estate, roughly 8 are reserved for our Brunello di Montalcino, most of which are located in the north, near our wine cellar, while the remaining part is in the south-east area. Initially farmed as one single territory, to produce just one wine, in 1998 Marco had already grasped the potential of these two soils, realizing that to unite such different products meant to decrease Montalcino’s potential. Hence the idea of producing, alongside the “classic” Brunello that had been produced until then and would later take on the name of “La Mannella”, a new product, a selection originating exclusively from the grapes harvested in the south-east area, named, indeed, “Poggiarelli”. The soil composition in fact, consisting of clay and sandstone at La Mannella, rocky and rich in marl for I Poggiarelli, made scents, tastes and sensations completely different from each other, and it was at once clear that these differences could no longer be ignored.

Plush aromas of blueberries, raspberries, licorice and cedar. The palate is full-bodied with firmly framed tannins and balanced acidity, giving notes of mocha, blood plums and tobacco. The finish shows concentrated fruit and a firm structure.

Quattro Theory Wine would like to bring back to the original "Napa wine style" where you can't tell if it's French or American when you open the bottle. This is the original Napa style. It changed in the 90s and has continued to this day.
Quattro Theory wines capture the true expression of Napa Valley and combine four distinctive elements: winemaker Landon Donley's purposeful vision, high-quality vineyards, precision winemaking, and experiences with food and friends. Made with care to be enjoyed casually.
