Officina del Vento

Officina del Vento
Officina del Vento is the bold new project from Italy’s three Masters of Wine - Gabriele Gorelli, Pietro Russo and Andrea Lonardi - lifelong friends who became Italy’s first MW trio. Together they have transformed a shared dream into a vineyard-manifesto on the wild southwestern coast of Sicily. Set within the windswept Isole dello Stagnone di Marsala Nature Reserve, facing the Egadi Islands and stretching toward Trapani, this special place holds deep personal meaning. It was here, among ancient Grillo vines, sea breezes and golden sunsets, that the self-styled “three musketeers” once gathered to study, reflect and imagine a better future for Italian wine.

Their mission? To breathe new life into forgotten vineyards and champion world-class Italian wines rooted in authenticity and precision. They began with a single hectare and a clear vision. By 2023, their first Grillo was in bottle. In March 2025, just 4,176 bottles were released — and they’ve just landed in the UK. Fresh, vibrant and full of purpose, Officina del Vento is more than a wine. It’s a statement. A return to place. A call to action. And above all, a celebration of friendship, as they forge together in their ‘workshop of the wind’ a compelling new direction for Grillo and for the Stagnone.

The Master of Wine (MW) is one of the most prestigious titles in the global wine industry, awarded by the Institute of Masters of Wine in London. The qualification requires not only exceptional tasting ability, but also deep knowledge of viticulture, winemaking, distribution, and the global wine business.

Today, there are only a few hundred Masters of Wine worldwide, making this title extremely rare. Wines created or selected by Masters of Wine represent the highest level of expertise, experience, and vision in the world of wine.
